Here are my Winter '10 prints. I know, I know, I'm going a little out of order here, but I was finally able to track down all of the prints I did when I started working at Anthro. This was actually the first season I worked on! All of these prints fit into our Winter '10 concept, and we were inspired by Russian folklore and motifs.
I had the oppotunity to work on a velvet burnout- a technique where the fabric is created by burning away surface pile from velvet in specific areas, leaving a sheer backing visible behind the velvet design.
This coat is an example of a woven jacquard—the pattern is woven into the fabric, instead of printed. Jacquards are great for heavy-weight fabrics for winter coats, and it has a really nice textural feel.
